MFM

Today I had my preconception consultation with my new MFM. It went well she is very positive and reassuring. She differs from my RE in that she wants me start Lovenox as soon as I get a BFP. My RE said start Lovenox when we see a gestational sac. She also wants me to start baby aspirin right away. I had to go through my torrid past and hand over my gigantic file to the nurse. I only cried a little and she teared up too. So now here I am standing on the edge of the high dive again about to jump in. All those butterflies in my stomach and fears about what will happen are sitting in my throat. I know we are prepared. I have my towel, my goggles, nose plug and ear plugs and water wings. I'm still scared. Because this is it. I cannot keep losing babies. If this one doesn't work out I'm done. That's scary too. So the plan is take BCP for this cycle, next cycle take Femara, but use protection so I don't get knocked up and see if I can ovulate earlier than CD19. Then in March it's game on. So today I climbed the ladder and looked down at the water, but I think I need to run around the pool a few times to get my courage up.

I will cheer you on as you take your last laps before climbing that terribly high ladder. ~Hugs~

You sound very ready for this. Emotionally, I do not think we are ever ready for what lies ahead. Especially considering all that you have been through...

Your new doc office sounds committed and really invested in you on this journey too.

I will follow closely!!

Hi, dropping in from ICLW. I just wanted to say HI and wish you lots of luck as you "jump" back in. I have been on a break myself, and will be jumping back in the pool myself. Its a scary step, but its what we need to do to get us through our journey to motherhood.

Best Wishes!

Wow! That's quite a plan. Looking down at the water is a big step. Cheering wildly from ILCW.

That first leap is always the hardest.

May you find strength, compassion, and hope while you run your last few laps.

Sometimes, when you look back, aren't you amazed at what you've survived so far?

You can do this. You'd be nuts not to be scared, but I know you'll take the plunge when you have to.

Good luck! ICLW

P.S. My file at the RE's office is ridiculous. It's too big for the folder, and is falling apart from age, size, and overuse. I've become quite fond of it.

Positive and reassuring are good qualities in a doc when we're feeling fragile. Hope that your dip in the pool goes swimmingly.

Happy ICLW!

Practising lots of deep breaths before you jump in the pool will help when the time comes. I'm wishing you 100% easy success.

I'd love for you to be holding your newborn while YOU give ME some assvice about jumping back in that pool this time next year!
