Bed Rest

I have been put on bed rest until further notice by Dr. T. My cervix went down to 1.7cm. Baby girl flipped around and now her head is at my cervix. So I am only allowed to get up to go to the bathroom, eat and take a shower. This is a critical time because we are not at viability yet. 21 weeks. Dr. T said it is too risky to do a cerclage after 23 weeks. My cervix is still closed, but significantly shorter than last week. FUCK. I am trying hard to keep a brave face and be positive. DH on the other hand if falling apart. He is distraught and very angry. He keeps talking about why is God punishing him. I don't know what to do. I told him we will just have to ask for help, and people will help us. Neither of us like doing that, but in this situation this is what we must do. I know this little girl is destined for greatness she is so special she has to be shared with the world. I just have to do what I can to get my stupid body to get her here.

Shit. This is nervewracking. I am really hoping she stays put and you guys keep your sanity. This is going to be a long few weeks. Rest up. Thinking of you and especially your baby girl. xx

Is the doc talking about the cerlage before 23 weeks then?

Im sorry youre dealing with this. I know how your husband feels to an extent.. why do some people have to have such a hard time with conceiving and bringing a healthy child to term? I dont understand and I never will.

You follow your bed rest orders to a T. If you get bored Im usually up for a text session and am home a lot.

Warm thoughts for you and your little family.

Oh I am so so sorry..I wanted to share this with you though. My sister in law is currently pregnant with her second child, she was on bed rest with first pregnancy for shortened cervix at 20 weeks on..and delivered a healthy baby at 34 weeks. This pregnancy she was put on bed rest at 17 weeks with the exact same cervical measurement as yours, after one week of strict bed rest it went back up to 2 and then the next few weeks she is now at 23mm and stable and she is now 23 weeks. So if it means anything at all, for her very strict bed rest is helping her remain stable. I am sorry you are dealing with this. I really hope bed rest will do the same for you.

Oh dear!! This doesn't sound fun at all. :( But follow the strict orders and I just know she will stay put until it's safe for her to come!
